Stress Management & Emotional Wellbeing

Thursdays from 5 - 7 PM

The primary objective of this seminar is to address the complexities of stress and emotional well being with a focus on disadvantaged communities and the difficulties they face in coping. Students will identify specific stressors that are prevalent in underrepresented youth. Students should ultimately gain new insight into their physical and emotional health as it relates to stress as well as gain confidence in how to manage and cope with emotions and distressing events healthily.

Layla Aboufares (she/her/ella)

Hello! My name’s Layla, and I’m a current sophomore majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Spanish. I enjoy learning about nutrition and neuroscience, thereby pursuing a career in medicine after college. (I’m also a Health Worker for Unit 2!) And, I absolutely LOVE Blogilates, smoothie bowls and re-reading Nicholas Sparks novels! I am oh so very excited to meet you all this semester!

Hello! My name is Clara, and I’m from Arroyo Grande, CA. I’m currently a third-year majoring in English & minoring in Creative Writing. I love breakfast foods, poetry, art museums, and baking. I believe in the value of healing, community-oriented spaces at Cal, so I’m very excited to create one through this seminar.
