Hi! My name is Aditya Vunnum (he/him) and I am currently a sophomore studying Public Health. I joined the food pantry during last spring and fell in love with the BSC community. As pantry staff, I saw that accessibility to basic needs was a privilege that I had taken for granted my whole life. I hope that I can help advocate for the Berkeley community in any way that I can. It has been truly gratifying getting to know so many different members of our campus community, and I am so excited to meet you all this year!
When I arrived in Berkeley, I was immediately surrounded by our fast paced, warm, and powerful community. Yet, at the same time I was alarmed by the disparities that I saw in access to basic needs. I knew that I wanted to give back to a place that has given me so much and work to empower and uplift others. The food pantry’s mission lies at the intersection of my passions for agriculture, social justice, and sustainability. I am deeply committed to the work that we do here and am so excited to be a part of such an amazing team.
My name is Georgi and I’m a third year studying Environmental Science and Food Systems. I am passionate about creating sustainably focused food systems. I have a deep appreciation for how good creates community and I’m excited to further connect with the Berkeley community through the food pantry.
My name is Heizel and I’m studying Economics and also doing Pre-med track. I am passionate about food justice and always believe that everyone in the world deserves food that is affordable and nutritious. Looking forward to meeting everyone in the BNC family!
