What are our Drop-In Services?

Get support from financial, food, housing, and health services, no appointment necessary!

Not all schedules are finalized for the Fall 2021 semester. Hours are subject to change, check our calendar below for updated hours.

*Zoom waiting room feature is enabled to protect the privacy and confidentiality of students during a consultation; therefore, there may be additional wait time prior to speaking with the counselor.

Financial Support

  • Financial Aid

    • The Financial Aid and Scholarships Office has counselors focused on basic needs security to answer questions and address concerns related to accessing and understanding your financial aid.

  • Bears for Financial Success

    • Meet with a financial wellness peer educator to help you budget, manage debt, understand your credit, and more.

Nutritional Support

  • CalFresh Application Support

    • Direct support with the CalFresh application or Semi-Annual Report (SAR7). Provided by certified Alameda County Community Food Bank CalFresh workers or CalFresh Student Ambassadors.

    • Sign up for an appointment here.

  • CalFresh Appeals Clinic

    • If your CalFresh benefits were denied or delayed, the Food Justice Project can help you file for an appeal. Direct-client service provided by Berkeley Law students.

  • UHS Nutrition Counseling

    • Free, 15-minute nutrition counseling sessions with a registered dietitian to talk about topics such as stress eating, eating on a budget, meal planning, and more.


  • Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board

    • Obtain information about tenant rights, resources, and responsibilities from a Housing Counselor with the Berkeley Rent Board.

  • Berkeley Student Cooperative

    • Learn more about low-cost, cooperative student housing options for university students.

Mental Health

  • Let’s Talk Counseling

    • Informal and brief consults with a mental health provider from University Health Services. A great opportunity to learn coping skills, explore the benefits of counseling, and learn more about the mental health resources available at Cal.
