Complete the Application Process

Complete a CalFresh prescreener to help determine likely eligibility then complete an application online

Upload Verification Documents

Submit verification documents online on getcalfresh.org or create an account on BenefitsCal to upload documents and access case information

Complete the Interview

After submitting a CalFresh application, the County has up to 30 days to determine whether you will receive benefits. Within this 30 days you will likely receive information regarding a scheduled interview to go over your application with your caseworker

Post Application

If application was approved you should receive an approval notice, ebt card, and a new PIN (if this is a new case) at the address provided

If application was denied, you may be able to appeal with support from the Food Justice Project
